About Us

NW Contemporary Art was founded in 2020 by Tacoma-born artist Al Schwartz. An alumnus of WWU, he has a multidisciplinary art career that spans over thirty years and has worked extensively in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii. His art resides in public and private collections worldwide, including the State of Hawaii’s permanent collection in Honolulu.

Passionate about the cultural and societal significance of original works of art, NWCA's mission is to connect, touch lives, and ultimately contribute to the creative fabric of the community in which we all live.

Whether you are an art collector or enthusiast, we welcome you to experience our one-of-a-kind artworks online or in person at our contemporary fine art gallery in Bellingham, WA.
